Less than two weeks ago, we were writing about how BeyondATC was 80% done integrating Navigraph’s new Flightradar24 data pipeline. Today, that integration has crossed the finish line and landed in the experimental build.
When we covered the announcement, the team was clear that schedule-based traffic would remain part of the base purchase at no extra cost, and that the live data layer would be entirely optional. That promise holds. BeyondATC says live traffic is an optional extra, and the schedule-based system isn’t going anywhere.
For those who want it, here’s what’s required: the feature is currently available only in the Experimental build, which is exclusive to owners of the Supporters Edition. To actually receive live traffic data, you’ll also need a linked Navigraph account with an active Unlimited subscription. That’s the same subscription that gets you the navigation data, charts, and, more recently, the FR24 live traffic system that Navigraph opened up to third-party developers as part of its officially licensed data platform.
BeyondATC already used historical FlightRadar24 data, covering a week’s worth of IFR flights globally. That was schedule-based traffic doing a convincing impression of reality. What’s arriving now is near real-time movements sourced from the same FR24 data that powers FSLTL’s recent integration.
The team is launching this on the Experimental branch first, specifically to gather real-world feedback before the feature moves to the standard Early Access build. BeyondATC says the integration is in good shape already, but this phase is about polishing it with actual usage. If you’re on the Supporters Edition and have a Navigraph Unlimited subscription, you’re already set up to try it. The setup guide is on the BeyondATC wiki at beyondatc.net/knowledge-base/live-traffic, and the team recommends reading it before diving in, since it covers what the feature does, and just as usefully, what it doesn’t.
If you’re already on Navigraph Unlimited, this costs nothing extra to try.
