Keeping track of GSX profiles in MSFS 2024 just got much easier

GSX Pro remains one of the most influential addons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, but it relies heavily on specific airport profiles to function correctly at third-party hubs. For many simmers, the process of checking which airports have a custom profile and which are still using generic data is a manual, time-consuming task. Dave’s GSX Profile Manager, a recently released standalone tool, seeks to automate this audit process by cross-referencing your installed scenery against your active GSX files. And it’s free!
The profile management problem
While GSX Pro includes a vast database of default gates, the community-created profiles found on platforms like FlightSim.to are what provide the precise pushback paths, custom vehicle placements, and gate-specific passenger walking paths that users expect. The challenge has always been organizing all of these profiles. As a library of airports grows, it becomes difficult to remember which sceneries have been configured and which haven’t.
The developer explains that his tool scans the community folder and compares the findings against the user’s GSX Pro profiles. This creates a clear list of what is installed and what is missing. For those who frequently add new scenery to their collection, this offers a way to maintain a high standard of ground operations without having to check every airport manually.
Smart integration with FlightSim.to
Because of current technical limitations, the manager cannot download profiles directly from external websites. To address this, the developer included a feature that makes the search process easier. When the tool identifies a missing profile, a dedicated button takes the user to FlightSim.to with the specific airport ICAO already entered in the search bar.
Dave’s GSX Profile Manager is available for free and is compatible with both MSFS 2020 and the 2024 edition. While the developer says that bugs may still be present in this early version, the utility provides much-needed organizational capabilities for one of the most popular, yet complex, addons in the flight simulation world.
