GSX Pro gets a huge update with new cleaning crew and a full airport map

FSDreamTeam introduces major new capabilities in its latest overhaul of the ground-handling add-on.

FSDreamTeam has released what it calls its largest GSX Pro update of the year. The developer says this work has been ongoing for months, sparked by community feedback and requests across social platforms. The result introduces two major additions to GSX Pro: a fully animated cleaning crew and an extensive new 2D map system that reshapes how users interact with gates, routes, airport data, and profile editing.

The new cleaning crew service

According to FSDreamTeam, one of the most requested features from users has been an aircraft cleaning crew. The team says the feature initially seemed simple but required an overhaul of the GSX character animation system so that crews could move realistically through narrow cabin spaces.

The cleaning crew can be triggered through the Additional Services menu but only when the aircraft cabin is empty. The characters arrive in a small minivan and board via stairs or the rear jetway stairs when available. FSDreamTeam explains that the number of cleaners depends on the aircraft layout, with four people per corridor. This results in four characters on single-aisle aircraft and eight on wide-bodies.

Each cleaner uses individual animations and equipment. The developer highlights that, unlike standard passenger characters, cleaners have some awareness of each other’s position, giving room to avoid collisions in the aisle. Timings and walking speeds vary, so each cleaning cycle plays out differently. After completing the path through the cabin, the team exits and departs in the minivan.

A new 2D map for gate selection, profiles, and pushback editing

The second major addition, and perhaps the most impactful, is a new integrated map, described by FSDreamTeam as a “versatile map” due to its broad role across GSX functions. It replaces several menu-driven tasks and adds new capabilities, all from a single interface.

Gate browsing and repositioning

From the reposition menu, the map displays all airport stands, taxiways, and runways. Gates suitable for the current aircraft type are outlined in yellow, offering an immediate overview of compatible positions. Users can zoom, pan, or center on their aircraft. A “zoom fit” view adapts depending on context, such as showing an entire SimBrief route if one is loaded.

Background layers include OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, or Bing Maps, and users with a Navigraph subscription can log in to display IFR high, IFR low, VFR, or world map layers, available in day or night variants.

Chart display for departure and arrival airports

Opening the map from the Additional Services menu shows two entries: the current airport and the SimBrief destination. Selecting either presents its full Navigraph chart list. The planned departure or arrival procedure is automatically highlighted.

Charts appear as overlays, and users can adjust opacity to view both chart details and the underlying map. FSDreamTeam says this feature should help anyone building or troubleshooting GSX airport profiles, especially when comparing the profile’s data against published taxiway layouts.

Profile editing in 2D

The update introduces full 2D editing of GSX vehicle positions. Users can move or rotate objects directly on the map using simple mouse controls. Satellite backgrounds allow creators to check vehicle positions against real-world layouts.

Parking radius and threshold distances are now adjustable visually by dragging on the stand’s outline. Parking guidance systems can be rotated with larger alignment helpers. All changes are saved back into the GSX profile.

A redesigned 2D method for creating pushback routes

Pushback creation has also been re-worked with a “Customize 2D” mode. Instead of building routes in 3D with key commands, users create them by clicking points on the map. The system also generates suggested names based on taxiway labels and direction.

During an actual pushback, a new “QuickEdit on Map” option allows users to adjust the route on the fly. A traffic layer can be switched on to show AI aircraft on the apron, distinguishing active aircraft from parked ones, which helps assess whether the path is clear.

QuickEdit routes saved in this way are stored for that gate and can be reused later.

Available now

This was a round-up of the most important changes in this major GSX Pro update, but the full 15-minute video goes deeper and is well worth watching. The update is available now at no additional cost for existing GSX Pro users. If you haven’t picked it up yet, GSX Pro is currently 30% off for Black Friday on SimMarket, so it’s a good moment to grab it at a discount.
