BlueBird Simulations has shared a new development update on its long-awaited Boeing 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, officially confirming that the project has now entered stage 1 of beta testing.

In a message to the community on Discord, the developer said that while this initial phase could also be considered “a late alpha” due to some incomplete systems, it still represents a major milestone: the first time external testers are evaluating parts of the aircraft.

The team explained that beta testing will unfold across three stages, each focusing on specific system groups before a full release. According to BlueBird, this process will extend well into 2026, with a more detailed progress video expected later this year or early next year following the holiday period.

“Some might consider this a late alpha testing instead of beta since not all of the systems are ready yet,” the developer wrote. “But nevertheless it’s a milestone for us to finally have some external testers testing some (not all) of the systems and providing feedback.”

The developer accompanied the announcement with several new screenshots captured in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

BlueBird also shared a new Beta Testing Outline showing which systems are included in each stage.

The BlueBird 757 remains one of the most ambitious classic airliner projects in development for MSFS. It will include both 757-200 and 757-300 variants, each available with Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce engines, and is planned to launch first for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, followed by a free compatibility update for MSFS 2024.

The aircraft’s price is set at USD 80, covering all variants and engine options. The team has also hinted that the release will happen “before GTA 6.”
