Passenger2x rebuilds passenger simulation for MSFS, and it’s available right now

Well, here’s something coming out of nowhere. Following the release of Passenger2 almost two years ago, we suddenly have Passenger2x, a brand-new passenger and airline management add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The developer claims this isn’t an incremental upgrade, but a full rebuild that’s been kept completely under wraps for the past eight months.
Passenger2x isn’t meant to replace Passenger2. The original product will keep getting updates, but this new platform is built from scratch with a different goal: more operational control and deeper systems. According to the devs, this direction came from community feedback asking for more than just immersion.
That feedback seems to have shaped a series of new features:
- AI Flying – Your airline operates flights automatically, even when you’re offline
- Route Creation – Build custom networks with destinations, schedules, and aircraft assignments
- Custom Seat Maps – Design cabin layouts for each aircraft type
- Advanced Systems – Dynamic passenger demand, refreshed announcements, and full operational logic
- Airline Policies – Set rules for service flows, baggage allowances, compensation, and fare structures
- Loyalty Club – Reward frequent flyers, track status, and build brand loyalty over time
It’s essentially the same core idea as Passenger2 (adding a purpose to your flights) but taken further into airline management territory.
Passenger2x is available now directly from the official website. As for pricing, you can either go with a one-time purchase (£33.99 at the time of writing) or subscribe monthly (£5.99/month). The team says the subscription option was added to make the add-on more accessible and flexible, based on feedback from simmers who prefer not to commit to a higher upfront price.
What happens to Passenger2?
If you already use Passenger2, you shouldn’t have to worry. The developers say support and updates will continue for that platform. Passenger2x is positioned as an alternative for simmers who want more depth, rather than a replacement for the existing product.
