Flysimware Learjet 35A gets Boris Audio Works treatment in latest update

A new update fine-tunes the classic business jet with enhanced audio and key system fixes.

Flysimware’s Learjet 35A has been quietly carving out its place as one of the more serious classic business jets available in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Since its release, it has gone through a steady cadence of updates, each one refining the experience for simmers. The latest version, v1.8.0, is no exception. And this one is all about sound!

The highlight of the update is a brand-new engine sound package created by Boris Audio Works. If you’ve been around the MSFS scene for a while, you’ll know Boris Audio Works for its high-quality soundsets that aim to replicate the nuance of real engines and cockpits. Having that pedigree now integrated into the Learjet means takeoffs and climbs should feel a lot more alive in the headset.

Flysimware didn’t stop at the engines. The team also reworked how the simulator plays rpm and trim clacker sounds in MSFS 2024, adjusted the volume of the bleed air system, and even gave the throttle textures a refresh with updated ambient occlusion.

Of course, every aircraft update comes with a bug-squashing list, and this one is no different. Here’s the full changelow of the Learjet 35A V1.8.0:

Updates:

  • New engine sounds developed from Boris Audio Works.
  • Improved the logic that plays the rpm and trim clacker sounds for MSFS2024.
  • Ambient Occlusion texture effect was updated for the Throttles.
  • The bleed air sound is now lower in volume.

Bugs:

  • The control wheel master switch was no longer disabling the elevator trim when pressed. Fixed. This also fixed the trim sound from playing when the trim is disabled from the CWM switch or when the primary/secondary switch is in the off position.
  • The gear horn fixed from version V1.2.7. was only preventive and not disabling when electrical was lost. Fixed.
  • After adding the GNS430 the copilot nav/gps was stuck on nav mode. Fixed.
  • Right Turbine N2 100ths engine drum was not showing a value of 1 when over 100 percent. Fixed.

For owners of the Learjet 35A, this free update is already live. If you haven’t picked it up yet, the aircraft remains available through SimMarket and Flysimware’s store, with optional Cargo and Medevac expansion packs.
