Just Flight has released a new version of FS Traffic that makes the AI traffic utility officially compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Version 1.0.8 is the first FS Traffic update made exclusively for the new simulator. It introduces a handful of key enhancements aimed at ensuring compatibility with MSFS 2024’s evolving engine, while also ironing out several user-reported bugs that have surfaced over the past few months.
The headline here is full compatibility with MSFS 2024. If you’ve already made the jump to the new simulator, this update makes FS Traffic ready for action, bringing back scheduled AI traffic across major airports with the same detailed models and liveries users came to expect in MSFS 2020.
Beyond basic compatibility, the update includes:
- Additional LODs for aircraft models, which should help performance in 2024’s more demanding graphics environment.
- A new “Layout Rebuilder” tool in the Traffic Control Centre (TCC)—helpful for users who tweak schedules, add liveries, or customize traffic manually. The tool rebuilds the simulator’s
layout.jsonfile, often a pain point when content changes aren’t recognized. - A fix for persistent “INVALID ICAO” errors that cropped up when using some third-party airports.
- Aircraft.ini file corrections, addressing missing livery data that previously resulted in incomplete or generic traffic.
- And finally, an updated operations manual, which should provide better guidance now that the product spans two simulator generations (though this version is 2024-only).
It’s worth noting that v1.0.8 is only compatible with MSFS 2024.
If you’re wondering how FS Traffic performs in the new simulator, YouTuber Practically Geek gave it a spin in a recent live stream. It’s a solid way to get a feel for how the models, schedules, and performance hold up under MSFS 2024’s updated architecture.
