We’ve all been there. You’re on final approach, talking to ATC, and suddenly you have a cabin crew add-on that decides it’s the perfect time to blast the arrival announcement. Or maybe GSX starts yelling about ground services right when you’re trying to hear a VATSIM clearance. Sound familiar? That’s exactly the kind of situation FS Realistic Audio Control (FSRAC) 3.0 is here to help you handle.
FSRAC is a dedicated audio manager built specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator, letting you route and control various audio layers using the aircraft’s own radio volume knobs. That’s right—you can finally twist the COM knobs in your A320 and actually do something useful with them. Whether you’re flying the Fenix, PMDG, iniBuilds, or even default aircraft, FSRAC makes those cockpit controls feel genuinely functional.
FSRAC 3.0 introduces full support for MSFS 2024 (as well as 2020), and brings some thoughtful upgrades over previous versions. The headline feature? Real-time audio source binding to actual cockpit knobs. That means you can assign:
- Your COM1 knob to ATC audio (like SayIntentions.AI),
- A VHF knob to simulator sounds (engine, system chimes, etc.),
- Another to GSX chatter,
- And yet another to your PA announcements from FS2Crew or even VATSIM briefings.
A standout feature is the smart auto-ducking system. Let’s say ATC is transmitting—you can have the rest of the sim audio automatically drop by a set percentage (5% to 99%) so you never miss a clearance or instruction.
Out of the box, FSRAC 3.0 includes ready-to-use profiles for a wide range of popular aircraft, including the Fenix A320 (CFM, IAE, and SL variants), PMDG’s 737 and 777, the FlyByWire A320neo, Headwind’s A330-900, CaptainSim’s 777, several default Asobo airliners like the A320neo, 747, and 737 MAX, as well as iniBuilds’ A310, A300, and A350. But there’s more, like the HorizonSim 787-9, Just Flight’s 146, and even larger aircraft like the A400M and A380.
Beyond all of these built-in profiles, you can configure your own with the included profile manager.
FSRAC 3.0 is available now via SimMarket and works with both MSFS 2020 and 2024. Setup is quick, and thanks to its standalone configurator and intuitive UI, there’s very little learning curve.
