Update (June 10, 2025): iniBuilds has now released Providence (KPVD) Premium for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The scenery is available via the iniBuilds Store for a launch price of just £9.99 (excl. VAT) for the first two weeks. The package includes a fully recreated KPVD airport built with the latest MSFS 2024 SDK, detailed terminal interiors, over 180 custom objects, GSX profile support, and—uniquely—a walkable version of the FSExpo 2025 convention hall, modeled inside the sim.

Just in time for FSExpo 2025, iniBuilds has unveiled its latest premium airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (KPVD).

KPVD is another addition to iniBuilds’ growing collection of U.S. airports—and a timely one at that. With FSExpo taking place in Providence this year, the team saw the opportunity to build something that connects directly with the event’s location and its attendees.

As the team explains in the announcement post on their forums, the development of KPVD began with a comprehensive on-site visit that iniBuilds says was essential to the accuracy and authenticity of the final product. George, who also oversaw work on London Heathrow and Doha Hamad, highlighted how valuable it was to experience the airport in person: walking the terminal, riding airside with operations staff, and documenting areas that typical travelers never see.

The site visit allowed the team to gather high-resolution photos and video references from virtually every accessible corner of the airport. These included interior terminal shots, jetways, signage, hangars, GSE assets, taxiways, and even smaller nuances like advertising displays and security equipment lighting.

More than just a terminal

As the primary commercial airport in Rhode Island, KPVD is modest in size compared to major hubs, but it’s busy enough to offer a wide variety of domestic destinations, making it a solid base for simmers focused on short-to-medium haul U.S. flights. It’s also known for being one of Breeze Airways’ key locations, which is reflected in the scenery.

According to iniBuilds, the scenery includes numerous hyper-specific details inspired directly by the visit: from a stripped-down Breeze A220 used for spare parts, to the cemetery just south of runway R5, and even the test strip for painted lines to the west of the same runway. These are details that might not make it into a typical scenery without local insight, and that’s the kind of nuance iniBuilds is aiming for.

iniBuilds’ development notes show a consistent emphasis on texture accuracy, clutter realism, and environmental fidelity. Artists reportedly referenced elements such as the exact amount of dirt on different surfaces, how signage is faded or missing letters (they even replicated the “AVIS” logo missing its “I”), and even the reflection patterns of the airport’s signature glass mosaic artwork.

The result, if the preview screenshots are anything to go by, is a faithful virtual version of T.F. Green International, complete with art installations, TSA checkpoints, floor textures, skybridge patterns, and other terminal-specific features.

Tying into this year’s FSExpo in Providence

iniBuilds also acknowledged the support of the airport staff, the FSExpo organizers, and local partners such as the Rhode Island Airport Corporation and the Rhode Island Convention Center for facilitating access and logistics.

The release of KPVD aligns perfectly with FSExpo’s arrival in Providence this month, offering simmers an accurate arrival and departure experience if they’re planning to replicate the trip in the sim.
