Blackbird Simulations is preparing to take military transport flying to a whole new level in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The developer has officially announced that the “Dirty 30 ADV” Alpha Version will finally launch on May 1st, 2025, bringing with it a detailed, pilot-driven experience that promises to stand out in the simulator’s military aviation catalog.
While the product is called “Dirty 30,” the aircraft itself is based on the Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Super Hercules. The project simulates the stretched fuselage variant of the famous C-130 family, known for its modern avionics, six-bladed scimitar propellers, and upgraded FADEC-controlled engines.
The Dirty 30 ADV, part of Blackbird’s Advanced Series, has been built using real-world technology and refined with feedback from actual pilots. According to Blackbird Simulations, the aircraft will feature two different fuselage variants, highly detailed systems, and a fully interactive cargo bay that supports mission-ready operations. The cargo area will even allow simmers to deploy chaff and flares.
The initial Alpha release is said to be 96% feature complete. Regular updates are planned as development continues, and anyone who purchases the Alpha version will receive all subsequent updates for free as the project evolves toward final release.
Blackbird notes that the Dirty 30 ADV is intended exclusively for MSFS 2024 on PC, with no plans to bring it to MSFS 2020 or Xbox platforms. This focus allows the team to take full advantage of the newer simulator’s capabilities without the compromises required for broader platform support.
As part of the launch announcement, Blackbird Simulations has also published a release trailer showcasing the Dirty 30 ADV in action.
For those who want the full rundown or to keep tabs on availability, Blackbird has set up a dedicated page for the Dirty 30 ADV on its website.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on how the Dirty 30 ADV develops over the coming months, especially as feedback from the community starts to shape the future updates. If Blackbird’s previous track record is anything to go by, this could become a standout military aircraft in MSFS 2024!
