RealAcars is like having a virtual operations center on call. From flight preparation to touchdown, you’ll receive a variety of messages that keep you informed and immersed. Some highlights include:
- Loadsheets (Preliminary and Final): Get key flight data before departure and after engine start. Choose between custom or realistic timing for when the data arrives.
- Takeoff and Landing Performance Reports: Crucial for nailing those procedures and ensuring smooth operations.
- Connecting Flight Schedules: Find out what’s happening at your arrival airport, including connecting flights for your airline.
- Notifications on Natural Events: Stay informed about nearby rocket launches, storms, volcanic eruptions, and other potential disruptions to your flight plan.
- Crew Updates: Know who’s staying on the aircraft for the next leg of the journey.
There’s even an option for “funny messages,” though the developer notes that humor might not be their strong suit.
Enhanced ROPS ATC
RealAcars doesn’t stop at just operational messages. The new ROPS ATC features allow for more direct interaction during flights:
- Request PDC (Pre-Departure Clearance) and oceanic clearance.
- Log onto the ROPS station for CPDLC communications.
- Receive step climb messages and “Direct To” instructions during your flight.
This adds an engaging layer to your flight, especially if you’re looking for realistic workflows without relying on VATSIM or IVAO.
