Here’s something we don’t see everyday. An electric aircraft! The future of aviation likely passes through the advancements in electric power that are revolutionizing other earthbound means of transportation, and while that progress seems slow in the real world, today you can get a feel of what the future holds with the latest aircraft release from LivToAir, which brings the Eviation Alice to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The Eviation Alice, developed by Israeli company Eviation Aircraft, has garnered attention in the aviation sector as a pioneering electric commuter aircraft designed for regional flights. While still in development in the real world, simmers can now experience this innovative aircraft in MSFS.
LivToAir’s digital rendition of the Alice is based on the aircraft’s second prototype, which completed its maiden flight on September 27, 2022. However, this simulator version utilizes calculated performance metrics rather than those observed during the actual flight. The real-world flight exhibited suboptimal performance, prompting the manufacturer to develop a third prototype, which is currently in progress.
LivToAir’s Eviation Alice looks quite feature-rich and includes custom electrical systems, advanced G3000 avionics, and an EFB with multiple apps. The aircraft is available in three variants – Commuter, Cargo, and Luxury – each with its own cabin layout and set of liveries. And there’s even a working charger to fill the battery’s juice while on the ground!
This new aircraft release for MSFS may be a great chance to get a taste of the potential future of aviation, which may include lower noise levels… and very short ranges. The Eviation Alice can theoretically only go for 450 nm, which it can do in about an hour and a half. It is a short-lived experience, as you can see, but one that may make sense in short regional hops.
