Seafront Simulations, whose work has made flights near bodies of water in Microsoft Flight Simulator much more interesting, has exclusively revealed their next major project to us: an extensive enhancement of the Bahamas’ waterways and maritime traffic. This ambitious undertaking aims to dramatically improve the realism of the archipelago’s bustling seas and harbors.
While still in early development, Seafront Simulations has provided a first look at their work, focusing on the waters around Nassau, the Bahamian capital. The previewed screenshots showcase the developer’s intentions to creating a more dynamic and realistic maritime environment.
“We aim to cover the entire Bahamas,” told us Chris from Seafront Simulations, revealing the project’s scope. Although no official release date has been set due to the project’s early stage, the team is making significant strides in bringing the Bahamas’ vibrant maritime activity to life within MSFS.
As usual with these packs, the sheer number of included vessels is quite impressive. Current estimates from the developer suggest that the final product will feature over 1,000 animated boats, complemented by several thousand static vessels.
Seafront Simulations provided a few screenshots that offer a glimpse of Nassau’s coastline, revealing a harbor teeming with activity. Pilots can expect to see realistic maritime traffic patterns and busy port areas as they fly over the Bahamian waters.
This project promises to introduce a significant enhancement to the Caribbean flying experience, particularly for low-altitude flights and seaplane operations. The Bahamas, with its numerous islands and cays, offers diverse maritime scenarios, from busy cruise ports to secluded beaches.
With development in its early stages, it will still take a while for Seafront Simulations to release this new add-on. As always, we’ll keep you posted, but for now, enjoy the preview images above!
