In their latest development update, PMDG’s Robert Randazzo shared some very interesting news about their upcoming projects for Microsoft Flight Simulator. While the update covered various product lines, the most intriguing revelations concerned the 777F, the freighter variant of the recently released 777, and the mighty Boeing 747!
The 777 freighter (777F) is currently the primary focus of PMDG’s development team. According to the update, the company is in the process of setting a “go-to-beta” date for the 777F. This suggests that the project is nearing completion, with PMDG anticipating a “pretty quick test process” once beta testing begins.
Randazzo also surprised us with a brief mention of the 747. We knew it was in the pipeline, but now Randazzo revealed that development on the 747 product line for Microsoft Flight Simulator started back in January and is “progressing apace.” This has traditionally been PMDG’s “flagship” add-on, and Randazzo’s words seem to indicate that this will continue to be the case.
Robert Randazzo teased that they have “some unexpected and very exciting things planned for this product line.” This cryptic is sure to spark speculation about what innovations PMDG might bring to their 747 in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
While details remain scarce, this update shows that PMDG isn’t just sitting back on the success of its existing products and continues pushing forward to bring highly detailed new aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Beyond the 747, the 737 MAX is also in advanced development, but we can’t help but wonder what other unannounced projects the PMDG team might have up their sleeve!
