As planned, Microsoft Flight Simulator has launched City Update VIII, offering a free expansion focused on the vibrant city of Las Vegas. This update is particularly timely, coinciding with FlightSimExpo 2024, which takes place in Las Vegas this very weekend (June 21-23).
City Update VIII enhances the Las Vegas area with high-resolution visuals, allowing players to experience the city from a whole new perspective. The update uses a combination of high-resolution aerial imagery, digital elevation data, and advanced texturing techniques, creating a more realistic representation of Las Vegas. Simmers can observe the city in detail while soaring through the skies in MSFS.
The update focuses on the overall cityscape, but it’s inevitable to point out a few highlights, including the already iconic Sphere and major hotels and resorts such as the Bellagio, Caesar’s Palace, and the Rio, which hosts this year’s edition of FlightSimExpo.
After installing this free update, simmers can expect a more immersive experience when flying over the Las Vegas Valley, taking in panoramic views and observing the city transition from day to night.
