(Discounted registration extended to April 1) – FlightSimExpo 2024 Finds New Home at Rio Las Vegas

Update, February 29th

Following the announcement that the year’s FSExpo would take place at Rio Las Vegas, the organizers have now extended the early registration deadline to April 1. This extension offers the community additional time to take advantage of the lowest registration prices for this year’s event. For just $80, attendees will gain access to the full spectrum of the expo’s offerings, including the Friday Welcome Reception, all live and recorded seminars, and much more.

FlightSimExpo has negotiated special room rates for attendees, available through a dedicated room block. The rates are set at $149 for Friday and Saturday nights and $69 for additional nights, plus taxes and a discounted resort fee. These rates include a $25 credit toward food and beverage, ensuring an even more enjoyable stay. Attendees transitioning from the Tropicana will receive a full refund and a $25 rideshare voucher for airport travel.

Rio Las Vegas, the iconic hotel and casino, is undergoing a comprehensive transformation that began in October 2023. This renovation encompasses the entire resort, including the introduction of dynamic dining options, the refreshment of public spaces, and the complete overhaul of over 1,400 rooms in the Ipanema Tower. Attendees will not only enjoy these newly renovated spaces but also have access to a variety of entertainment options on-site.

In a swift response to the unforeseen closure of the Tropicana Las Vegas, the FlightSimExpo 2024 organizers have successfully secured a new venue for the much-anticipated event. The expo will now take place at Rio Las Vegas, on the original schedule of June 21-23, 2024.

This update follows a period of uncertainty after the announcement that the Tropicana Las Vegas would be closing its doors on April 2 to facilitate the construction of a new baseball stadium. The closure, unexpected by the FlightSimExpo team and its attendees, prompted an urgent search for a new location. The team’s commitment to maintaining the event’s dates and Las Vegas location has culminated in the selection of Rio Las Vegas as the new venue.

The decision to move to Rio Las Vegas came after extensive discussions, partner communications, and community input. A significant majority of the community, through a survey, expressed a preference for Rio Las Vegas. This was also the preferable location for the organizers.

The Rio may not have the appeal of being on the Strip, but it’s not too far off, at just around a 25-minute walk from the hustle and bustle of Vegas’ most iconic artery. But hey, we’ll be there for the virtual planes, not the fancy lights, right? The team is confident that the venue, with its comprehensive renovations and array of dining and entertainment options, will provide an exceptional experience for all attendees.

Attendees of FlightSimExpo 2024 can look forward to accommodations in the newly renovated Ipanema Tower at Rio, featuring spacious rooms and modern amenities. The event has negotiated discounted rates for attendees, with room prices being notably competitive compared to the original rates at Tropicana. Additionally, attendees transitioning their bookings from Tropicana to Rio will benefit from a $25 food and beverage credit at the new venue, along with a $25 rideshare voucher to facilitate their travel from the airport to Rio.

The FlightSimExpo team extended its gratitude to the flight simulation community, event partners, and the staff at both Tropicana and Rio for their flexibility and assistance during this transition.
