Fly 2 High Releases Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers Intl Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Following the recent launch of Long Island MacArthur Airport, Fly 2 High has released another American airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator users. This time, they have focused their efforts on Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (KJAN), located in Jackson, Mississippi, United States. This regional airport is located approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Downtown Jackson across the Pearl River, in Rankin County, between the suburbs of Flowood and Pearl.

KJAN is a unique destination for simmers, serving as a civil and military airport. This dual functionality provides an interesting mix of commercial and military air traffic, offering a more diverse flying experience. The airport is named in honor of civil rights activist Medgar Wiley Evers, who was assassinated in Jackson in 1963.

KJAN’s strategic location near the Pearl River and its proximity to Downtown Jackson and the suburbs of Flowood and Pearl make it an appealing airport for MSFS. The airport’s position in the southeastern United States offers a variety of challenging and engaging flight routes, with diverse weather patterns and terrain for pilots to navigate. Additionally, the airport features a single 8,500 ft (2,590 m) runway, which caters to a wide range of aircraft, from small general aviation planes to larger commercial airliners.

The latest release from Fly 2 High boasts a high level of accuracy in its recreation of Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport. Users can expect to find detailed models of airport terminals, hangars, buildings, and other facilities. The developers have also incorporated interior terminal models, providing a more comprehensive virtual environment for those who like to explore the small details.
