A gateway to northern Italy: Bologna Airport released for MSFS

Get ready to pack your bags and take off to Italy as Callus Aerial has just released Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (LIPE) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This international airport, located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, serves the city of Bologna and is named after Nobel laureate and electrical engineer Guglielmo Marconi.

The airport has a rich history dating back to 1933 when the original airport was opened, located 500 meters to the west of the current building. As passenger numbers increased, the airport became impractically small and was replaced by the current building in the 1970s. Today, Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport covers a total surface of 36,100 square meters, including 5,500 square meters of shopping areas, and has 24 departure gates.

Thanks to Callus Aerial, flight simmers in MSFS can now experience a more accurate scenery for this airport in the simulator, with detailed models of all airport buildings and hangars, accurate runway, apron, and taxiway markings, and PBR materials used on all models. The partially modeled interior of all apron-facing terminal buildings adds to the authenticity of the scenery.
