Just Flight shares detailed features of the upcoming Avro Vulcan for MSFS

Just Flight announced the development of the Avro Vulcan for Microsoft Flight Simulator earlier this year, promising another highly-detailed military aircraft that simmers could enjoy in MSFS. Today, the development team shared a host of additional details about the product, which whet our appetite and set expectations high for this new plane!

Just Flight’s Avro Vulcan package, which the team says is being modeled to an exceptional level of detail, includes the Vulcan B Mk. 2 strategic bomber, K.2 Air-to-Air Refueling, and Maritime Radar Reconnaissance (MRR) variants that saw service with the Royal Air Force.

The Avro Vulcan B Mk. 2 is a legendary four-engine, delta-wing strategic bomber that saw service in the UK during the Cold War. Just Flight’s in-house team is developing this product from comprehensive, hands-on research with a real-life Vulcan B Mk. 2, XM655, based at Wellesbourne Airfield.

The aircraft features realistic animations such as dynamic wing-flex, doors, and the distinctive lift-dumpers and tail-mounted airbrake. The Captain and Co-Pilot positions in the cockpit are modeled with hundreds of functional switches, knobs, and controls. A selection of rear crew panels is also simulated. The aircraft features complex custom-coded systems based on real-world manuals, including electrical, fuel, and engine systems, and TACAN and VOR navigation.

The Vulcan B Mk2 based on XM655 was delivered in 1964 and saw service as part of the UK’s nuclear deterrent force throughout the 60s and 70s. The aircraft is now being preserved by a team of volunteers at Wellesbourne Airfield. All the included variants are bring brought to life by Just Flight with wear and tear based on extensive reference photos, immersive dynamic cockpit and exterior lighting, and 3D Wwise sounds.

The Avro Vulcan has always been an aviation enthusiast’s favorite, and with Just Flight now behind an ambitious project to bring this iconic airplane to life in MSFS, simmers can look forward to experiencing the thrills of being a pilot of these stunning machines. Enjoy the latest images of the aircraft and make sure to check Just Flight’s detailed product description to learn more about its features!

As for the release schedule, the Vulcan is currently the 4th in line in Just Flight’s current projects. It’s expected to launch later this year after the F28 Professional, the RJ Professional, and the PA-38 Tomahawk, in that order.
