Orbx has just released a new Australian airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. YMLT Launceston Airport, located in the island state of Tasmania, has been developed for MSFS by Ken Hall, a local developer who had exclusive access to the airport and its surroundings to gather the necessary data for a high-quality rendition.
Launceston Airport is Tasmania’s second busiest airport, after Hobart Airport. It serves more than a million passengers per year and is conveniently located in the heart of Tasmania, where stunning landscapes and unbroken wilderness abound.
YMLT offers direct flights to several major domestic destinations such as Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Perth. If you’re the kind of pilot who enjoys flying commercial flights around Australia, this airport should be a no-brainer. If you’re looking to know more about Tasmania and explore its beauty at lower altitudes with your favorite GA airplane, YMLT should also be a great choice to set base!
Ken Hall is a veteran Orbx developer whose work is well-known for multiple projects throughout the years. For this new airport, he has implemented PBR textures all around the scenery, along with airside buildings and hangars, static aircraft, and his usual attention to detail.
YMLT Launceston Airport is out now through Orbx Direct, priced at $24.64 AUD.
