It didn’t take long for Orbx to release the recently-teased re-creation of Prague Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Simmers looking to visit this absolutely stunning European city this weekend can now get a more authentic experience in MSFS, with a highly detailed bespoke scenery that includes Václav Havel Airport itself and also 21 custom POIs across the city.
Prague Airport was founded 85 years ago and suffered several extensions and improvements over the decades. It currently has two main passenger terminals, two general aviation terminals, and a dedicated cargo facility. With around 50 airliners operating to and from LKPR, Prague is well connected to the whole world, and there are plenty of business and cargo flights as well.
Orbx promises a highly accurate and detailed recreation of LKPR, which respects the latest real-world changes and includes custom jetways and ground services vehicles. As for the points of interest, these include the Motol University Hospital (with a landable helipad), the Hvězda Summer Pavilion, HORNBACH Praha, and more.
Those familiar with the default Prague scenery in MSFS should also notice a significant improvement in the aerial imagery, since Orbx also added around 90 km2 of custom orthoimagery that should get rid of the clouding that is visible in the default textures.
With connections all across Europe and beyond, Prague Airport provides plenty of opportunities for jetliner pilots to set up some flights to and from the airport while enjoying some beautiful views over Prague, but general aviation pilots will certainly be able to appreciate the newly added points of interest in more detail.
