FSRealistic Core is now available for MSFS with immersive sounds and effects

FSRealisic is finally available for Microsoft Flight Simulator, bringing with it an impressive number of immersive sounds and effects that promise to greatly enhance the levels of realism when flying in MSFS.

After a first preview last month, rkApps released today the first version of its first add-on for MSFS. FSRealistic is based on the very popular XPRealistic, well-known amongst X-Plane pilots for the many realism improvements it brought to that particular simulator. rkApps has now brought the beginnings of that very same idea to MSFS, with a promise to continue to update the product as the SDK enables new possibilities.

Right now, FSRealistic features 28 effects and a simulated “camera shake”. The latter is a temporary solution to provide a more accurate simulation of airframe vibrations, while the developers wait for true camera shake effects to be possible pending an SDK update. Once that happens, FSRealistic Pro, rkApps’ full camera and sound effects solution, will be made available for all to enjoy.

For now, FSRealistic includes the aforementioned 28 sound and vibration effects, available across all GA airplanes, Jets, Turboprops, Gliders, Helicopters, Seaplanes, and more. The full list of effects is as follows:

  • Turbulence
  • Touchdown
  • Engine vibrations
  • Stall buffet
  • Reverse thrust
  • Ground roll
  • Speedbrake drag
  • Gear drag
  • Auto speedbrake
  • Blade slapping
  • Brakes
  • Engine start
  • Ground effect
  • Stick shaker
  • Floats splash
  • Airframe wind
  • Windshield wind
  • Wind ambiance
  • Cockpit ambiance
  • Overspeed
  • Over G
  • Wheel well
  • Flaps lever
  • Flaps stress
  • Flaps drag
  • Landing claps
  • Crash screaming
  • Sneezing

FSRealistic supports all types of head-tracking such as TrackIR, and VR is also supported, although in this case it’s still considered to be a feature in beta.

rkApps is so confident in their product that they are offering a 7-day free trial, available from the official website, so you can test the product and make a decision about its worthiness. It’s a great idea and should open up the scope of potential customers immensely.

If you want to jump straight to the purchase or are looking to buy it after the trial runs out, FSRealistic is available for around 20€ / $. rkApps say that those who buy the product now will be eligible for a nice discount once FSRealistic Pro becomes available sometime in the future.
