SoFly sets December 17 release for AeroTone, its new global audio enhancement for MSFS

SoFly has confirmed that AeroTone, its new audio enhancement tool for Microsoft Flight Simulator, will be released on December 17th, 2025. The product will ship for both Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC, with console availability planned through the in-sim Marketplace on Xbox and PlayStation 5 shortly after.

AeroTone is the final name for the project previously known as Aircraft Sound Enhancer. According to SoFly, the tool aims to upgrade the simulator’s overall audio environment across every aircraft. It introduces a suite of customisable sound layers built in collaboration with Echo19, the audio studio already known in the community for its work on high-fidelity sound packages.

At launch, AeroTone will include more than 120 official aircraft profiles. These profiles are pre-configured sets of audio behaviours that assign specific effects to individual airframes. SoFly says the tool also works automatically with any aircraft in a user’s hangar, even if no profile is provided. Pilots can create and save their own profiles directly in the simulator and share them with the community.

A key element of the package is a large collection of pre-recorded ATC audio. SoFly says AeroTone includes over 100 hours of regionalised ATC chatter that varies based on the aircraft’s location and the phase of flight. This feature is intended to give long routes and quiet skies more ambient activity.

Everything is controlled from an in-sim panel created for the product. The interface allows simmers to adjust individual sound parameters and manage profiles without external applications. SoFly highlights dynamic behaviour in the audio logic, with elements such as ground roll, vibration, airframe stress, and avionics expected to react according to flight conditions.
