Parallel 42 releases Widows Peak, their first native scenery for MSFS 2024

Parallel 42 is back with its first native scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and, of course, it’s another backcountry adventure! Widows Peak is a rugged and remote off-field landing spot tucked away in Lincoln County, Wyoming, ready to test your skills. Located 25 miles north of Circle B Ranch, this high-risk airstrip offers a demanding approach near Mt. Wagner, where simmers must contend with shifting winds and hazardous terrain.

Widows Peak is described by //42 as a treacherous strip reminiscent of their Sharktooth Ridge, requiring precise control and quick decision-making. With no maintained runways and steep cliffs on approach, pilots will need to hug the terrain, utilize wind conditions, and apply expert rudder control to ensure a safe landing. The airstrip features two unmaintained grass runways and a single nearby helipad, making it ideal for STOL aircraft and helicopters.

Beyond its aviation challenge, Widows Peak promises a fully immersive wilderness retreat. A hiking path leads to a secluded helipad and the Pine Knoll Cabin, a walkable structure exclusive to MSFS 2024’s avatar mode. Nearby fishing pools, natural springs, and a valley rich with rivers and sandbars provide an inviting setting for exploration, camping, and bush flying adventures. The area also supports MSFS 2024’s dynamic fauna.
