Taxi2gate is back and releases its first airport for MSFS: Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport

Taxi2gate, a familiar name for those who’ve flown in the golden age of FSX and P3D, has released its very airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport, located in Guadeloupe, an overseas region of France in the Caribbean, is out now and marks the debut of Taxi2gate in MSFS.

Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport is the largest airport in Guadeloupe and the main international gateway to the archipelago. It averages around 2 million passengers per year, who mostly travel between these and other islands in the Caribbean or to a few destinations in the United States and Europe.

Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport has a long 10,253 ft runway capable of supporting airplanes of all sizes, including the Airbus A380. While not a regular sight in this airport, the A380 was actually tested here in 2006, with a few take-offs and landings.

TAxi2gate is now offering MSFS simmers the chance to experience a highly-detailed virtual rendition of TFFR. Taxi2gate was known for the high levels of detail in its sceneries for FSX/P3D, so we’re expecting to see a similar quality standard in MSFS, especially considering the much higher visual fidelity enabled by the new simulator.

Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport is available now through Simmarket. The official product images are promising and present a very realistic scenery, with impressive modeling and texturing. At €20 + tax, it’s a bit on the expensive side for an MSFS airport, but if you’re looking for an airport in this region with superior graphics, this is about as good as there is at this moment.

Along with this first release for MSFS, Taxi2gate has also stated that they are bringing all their previous sceneries to the new simulator. The next ones should be KMCO Orlando Intl and LFPG Charles de Gaulle, two large airports that will surely have a broad appeal!
