CSS’s Boeing 737 Classic nears completion for Microsoft Flight Simulator

CSS surprised the flight simulation community a while ago when they announced their ambitious Boeing 737 Classic project for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Now, as promised in the initial announcement, the aircraft is entering the final stages of production. The team has just shared today that beta testing is well underway, with testers meticulously evaluating every system to ensure accuracy and realism.

First Look at the Aircraft

Alongside the announcement, CSS has shared the first proper preview images of the 737 Classic in MSFS, giving us a closer look at the cockpit and various systems. The screenshots highlight detailed textures, lighting effects, and an immersive environment that reinforces the aircraft’s complexity. With a strong focus on realism, CSS aims to deliver an aircraft that closely replicates the operation of the real-world 737 Classic.

Final Touches and refinements

While beta testers put the aircraft through its paces, the developers are busy polishing the last details. CSS says that the EFB is in the final stages of development, while the art team is refining cockpit and cabin textures to ensure a visually immersive experience.

On the livery side, some of the best-known painters in the MSFS community, Atarium Liveries and Comet133, are creating a set of high-quality liveries that will ship with the aircraft. Additionally, CSS has confirmed that the 737 Classic will have full Navigraph integration, allowing users to access charts and flight planning tools seamlessly.

Pricing and Availability

One of the more unique aspects of CSS’s 737 Classic is its pricing model. Rather than a traditional one-time purchase, CSS is offering multiple options: a subscription plan at $5 per month, an annual payment of $50, or a lifetime license for $120. It’s a controversial business model that has taken the community by surprise, and we’ll have to see the reaction once the airplane becomes available for purchase.

What to Expect

CSS is aiming for a truly “study-level” experience with the 737 Classic, bringing a highly detailed flight model, full system simulations, and immersive visuals. The aircraft is designed for those who want an in-depth and realistic experience of flying the iconic Boeing 737 Classic.

A release date hasn’t been announced just yet, but CSS has hinted that it’s coming soon. We’ll be keeping a close eye on further updates, so stay tuned!
