New Sim Update 1 Beta (1.3.19.0) released for MSFS 2024

Following the recent delay of Sim Update 1 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the likelihood of further beta iterations before the final release was high. That assumption has now been confirmed with today’s release of a new beta version, 1.3.19.0, which introduces additional fixes and refinements.

The newly released beta primarily focuses on stability improvements, aircraft system refinements, and world rendering fixes. It follows version 1.3.13.0, which was expected to be one of the last test versions before the final public release. However, with today’s update, it is evident that Microsoft and Asobo are continuing to refine the update to ensure a smooth rollout.

Here are the release notes for this latest beta build:

General Bug Fixes

  • Added profanity check on Callsign and FlightNumber in aircraft configurator

World

  • Fixed ground texture aliasing regression

Aircraft

  • Improved the grouping of 2020 aircraft with an empty icao_model in the Aircraft Selector/Configurator

Aircraft Core Systems

Fuel System

  • Fixed an issue that caused the fuel_type parameter to be ignored from the [Fuel] section if the [Fuel_System] section was defined and with a version of 6 or Latest.
  • (It was still read when defined directly within the [Fuel_System] section.

DevMode

SimObject Editor

  • Fixed delete node not limited to asset group

SDK

SimVars

  • Fixed a crash when accessing ELEVATOR TRIM DOWN LIMIT while using an helicopter

Tools

  • Fixed fspackagetool issues when using the Steam version of the sim

It’s everyone’s hope that this latest beta further refines Sim Update 1, which was tentatively scheduled for release on February 18, 2025. The delay indicates that the developers are prioritizing stability and quality over meeting the initial deadline. With the continued rollout of incremental beta updates, the final release could still be a few weeks away, depending on the success of this latest build.

As always, simmers participating in the beta are encouraged to provide feedback, especially regarding stability and aircraft system behavior, as these have been key focus areas for recent fixes. The in-sim Marketplace remains inaccessible during the beta phase and is expected to launch alongside the final release.

Asobo and Microsoft have yet to confirm a new release date for Sim Update 1, but the frequency of recent beta updates suggests that the update is approaching its final stages.

We will continue monitoring developments and provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Stay tuned!
