inFlight sound add-on adds new dynamic sounds to Career Mode in MSFS 2024

There’s a new add-on for flight simulation enthusiasts that aims to provide immersive audio experiences in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. It’s called inFlight and focuses on delivering dynamic sounds such as pilot-to-pilot communications, crew announcements, and environmental audio that adapt to different aircraft and flight scenarios. Available on inflightaddon.com and simMarket, inFlight seeks to minimize setup requirements for ease of use.

You may not have heard of this add-on, and we hadn’t either, but the developer reached out with some updates to the service that could make it enticing for simmers, or at least worth exploring further.

Among the latest additions is Career Mode support, specifically designed to enhance the soundscape of VIP and passenger missions within the evolving Career Mode of MSFS 2024. This feature introduces realistic Pilot-to-Pilot Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) sounds, adding a new layer of immersion for users taking on dynamic missions. Non-military aircraft have also received expanded SOP sounds, providing additional audio cues for different aircraft types.

In addition to sound enhancements, inFlight has optimized its user interface to offer a more streamlined and efficient interaction. A new compact mode minimizes the amount of screen space occupied by the inFlight Console, offering a less intrusive overlay for users who prioritize cockpit visibility. This update is complemented by improved UI visuals and better responsiveness, including dynamic window resizing, which makes it easier for users to adjust their view as needed during flights.

Another significant improvement comes in the form of automatic aircraft detection. This updated detection system allows for smoother compatibility across various aircraft by automatically adjusting key settings, such as flap positions, to ensure the add-on works effectively without requiring manual configuration from the user.

To make its enhanced features more accessible to the flight simulation community, inFlight has introduced a free 3-day premium trial, alongside a free basic version. This move provides an opportunity for users to explore the add-on’s core functionality and determine if its premium offerings suit their needs before making a commitment.

This trial period is definitely useful because, unfortunately, there are very few examples of what inFlight does in the simulator—only a video from the developer. Having the opportunity to try it without committing to a payment is definitely a plus.

For additional details, including the full list of features, trial, and subscription options ($9/month or $99/year), you can visit inflightaddon.com. The Standard version is also available on simMarket for around $30.00 USD plus tax.
