Microsoft Flight Simulator’s World Update 13 to soar over Oceania, Hawaii, and Antarctica

Get ready for an adventure in paradise as Microsoft Flight Simulator’s next World Update is unveiled. During the latest Developer stream, the MSFS team announced that World Update 13 will be dedicated to the mesmerizing territories of Oceania. The update also includes the picturesque Hawaiian Islands, giving flight enthusiasts a chance to explore the lush landscapes and crystal-clear waters of the Pacific… and Antarctica!

In World Update 13, Microsoft Flight Simulator will introduce improved elevation data and aerial imagery to provide a more realistic and immersive experience. The enhanced details will enable users to appreciate the diverse topography and stunning geography of these unique islands and the vast remote whiteness of Antarctica.

The update will also include 14 bespoke airports and airstrips, carefully crafted to ensure accuracy and authenticity. From small island airstrips to bustling international airports, virtual pilots will have the opportunity to take off and land at a variety of locations across the Pacific Ocean. Orbx is collaborating with the MSFS team in the rendition of all these locations.

World Update 13 will add over 140 POIs to the game, allowing players to discover and explore iconic landmarks, natural wonders, and cultural heritage sites. Three research bases have also been included, including McMurdo station in Antarctica, giving users a glimpse into the scientific endeavors taking place in these remote locations. Speaking of remote… you’ll finally be able to fly over the South Pole!

While the number of photogrammetry cities in the update is yet to be determined, users can expect to fly in a few 3D cities located within this vast territory.

For those who enjoy a challenge, World Update 13 introduces three new Landing Challenges, designed to test pilots’ skills as they navigate the diverse terrain and weather conditions of Oceania. Additionally, three engaging Bush Trips will take users on a guided tour of the area, highlighting unique landscapes and points of interest.
