SP1 update for the Blackbird (Milviz) C310R is now available
A little over 6 months after the highly-praised initial release, the Cessna 310R from Blackbird Simulations (former Milviz) is now getting its first major update (Service Pack 1).
SP1 mostly tackles a long list of varied issues that have persisted in the C310R since the release. These range from improvements in the animations to fixes in the avionics, electrical system, lighting, and general retouches here and there.
In terms of new features, they seem to be limited to a new VOR2 gauge in the panel, which isn’t too bad since the 310R was already such a feature-rich product. One of its best features is the state-saving functionality, which now will save ADF NAV/COM frequencies. However, many were expecting to see a custom KAP140 added in to replace the default system, but that didn’t happen with SP1… you may wish to use this mod instead.
Blackbird also warns about some important considerations for those who use the GTN units. Read more below in the full release notes!
In the end, the C310R should become a little more polished with SP1 and continue to offer one of the very best GA experiences in MSFS. It’s a highly-recommended airplane that will bring you lots of fun!
The new version is now rolling out for those who purchased through the Blackbird/Milviz store. Check your inbox for an email from Blackbird Simulations with a download link for the new version! If you purchased through Orbx the update is also already available there! As usual, those who purchased in the Marketplace will have to wait a little longer…
Blackbird C310R SP1 Release Notes:
[Third Party Avionics]
The avionics ‘hot-swap’ capability in the 310’s tablet is intended as a means to allow visible
and usable 3D models for a particular GPS suite (PMS, TDS or WT). This ‘hot-swap’ capability
does not, nor is it intended to, solve compatibility and conflict issues between multiple 3rd
party products. Blackbird Simulations does not provide technical support for installation,
use of, or compatibility resolution for any 3rd party avionics suite or modification.
Those using the WTT C310R custom code from PMS50 for their GTN750 add-on product will find
that with that mod installed in the community folder it’s impossible to select any avionics
suite in the 310R tablet other than the PMS GTN 750. Removing or disabling that mod will
restore the ability to select other suites. Since the mod overrides our code we have no
control over this behavior.
A new VOR2 gauge is added to the panel. The NAV1/2 switch now only affects the DME readout.

The title had me all excited for the SR-71..! 😀
That’s actually very appropriate since these guys are also in fact developing the SR-71! – https://msfsaddons.com/2021/12/25/milviz-shares-new-images-of-the-sr-71-for-msfs-aims-to-go-to-beta-next-summer/
The wording in the post in the support forum does indeed sound like 1.1.6 is the SP1 release. Until I get the SendOwl notification about an updated product, which is MV’s usual modus operandi, I’m still keeping my hopes up that it’s just another release candidate.
1.1.6 still has a couple of bugs that I find quite annoying.
For some reason i cant register myself on the forum in order to download the SP.
Jua, unless Milviz recently changed the procedure, the registration is a manual process, you have to send a mail to request being added to the forum. Or just wait for the mail you’ll get when SP1 is eventually released (according to Colin on the MSFS forum, SP1 is NOT released yet, so 1.1.6 might just be another release candidate).
