Local Legend V: Beechcraft Model 18 has been released for MSFS

We are now used to seeing a new “Local Legend” airplanes being released in parallel with new World Updates. With yesterday’s release of World Update 10, dedicated once again to the United States of America, who also got a matching Local Legend, in the shape of the Beechcraft Model 18, also known as the “Twin Beech“.

This early airliner/light transport aircraft is brought to us by Carenado, who also released the Beech 17 Staggerwing a few months back.

The “Twin Beech” is a commuter aircraft featuring an all-metal construction, twin vertical stabilizer, and conventional undercarriage. It’s an elegant designs that continues to be charming today, powered by two “Wasp Junior” radial engines.

The Beech Model 18 is a classic of the skies, one of the most successful airframes in history with more than 9.000 units produced during a production run that lasted until 1979.

Like the Model 17 “Staggerwing”, the Beech Model 18 is brought to Microsoft Flight Simulator by the hands of Carenado, in a package that includes ten liveries, including a historic Navy and seven civil variations.
