Stuttgart gets another airport for MSFS, this time from FeelThere

The German city of Stuttgart found itself in an interesting predicament when Microsoft Flight Simulator was released a year ago. Its international airport, EDDS, was nowhere to be found. In its place, there was just a large green patch of land with no airplanes, terminals, or a runway in sight. It was one of the most glaring deficiencies caused by the extraordinarily impressive – but sometimes flawed – rendering technology based on Bing Maps imagery.

Well, things have since turned around completely. Stuttgart now has at least three different recreations of its International Airport in MSFS. There’s a great freeware version, the first to be released, there’s another one from JustSim, and now it’s FeelThere to come out with their own version of EDDS. Choices!

Although FeelThere doesn’t provide many specific details about its product, it does look quite good. From the preview images and video, we can see a Terminal that looks quite realistic, with some impressive night lighting as well.

Interestingly, it seems that this virtual airport has some life in it. There are a few people moving around, which is always great for immersion, and some areas of the airport have the objects, clutter and ground vehicles associated with a living airport.

It will be interesting to see how this product from FeelThere compares to JustSim’s, so let us know in the comments below if you had the opportunity to try them both!

EDDS Stuttgart International Airport is now available directly from FeelThere’s online store.
