FlightDeck 1.0 now available, allows the use of Stream Deck with Flight Simulator

Last year we saw the release of FlightDeck, a nice little tool that was specially made for owners of Stream Deck. Created by Robbert van der Pas, it enabled the use of this handy little gadget to control several buttons and switches in airplanes inside Flight Simulator. Initially available in early access, FlightDeck has now reached version 1.0, which brings a much larger list of supported airplanes and a bunch of new custom icons.

FlightDeck provides a very useful new interface for MSFS, by enabling Stream Deck’s buttons to control the parking brake, landing gear, autopilot, flaps, lights, and more. It currently supports the Stream Deck XL, Stream Deck and Stream Deck Mobile (iOS & Android).

Version 1.0 now brings support to most of the default Flight Simulator airplanes, and the developer has told us that he’s currently working on a profile for the PMDG DC-6 and the Aerosoft CRJ. The entire list of supported airplanes is currently as follows:

  • Airbus A320 Neo
  • Aviat Pitts Special S2S
  • Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental
  • Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner
  • Cirrus SR22
  • Cub Crafter X Cub
  • Daher TBM 930
  • Diamond Aircraft DA40 TDI
  • Diamond Aircraft DA62
  • Diamond Aircraft DV20
  • EXTRA 330LT
  • Flight Design CTSL
  • Icon A5
  • JMB Aircraft VL-3
  • Pipistrel Virus SW121
  • Robin Cap10
  • Beechcraft Baron G58
  • Beechcraft Bonanza G36
  • Beechcraft King Air 350i
  • Cessna 172 Skyhawk (G1000)
  • Cessna 208 B Grand Caravan EX
  • Cessna Citation CJ4
  • Zlin Aviation Savage Cub

Besides the wider variety of airplanes that you can use with your Stream Deck, this plugin now includes 672 custom-made icons, which mimic the respective real-world appearance of each of the controls.

FlightDeck is now leaving its early access stage, so the price is a little different: €11,95. Still, in our opinion, a very compelling price for owners of this piece of hardware who are looking to take advantage of it in Flight Simulator.
