Orbx previews stunning ‘Landmarks Dubai’ for Flight Simulator

Moving on with the planned roadmap for 2021, Orbx has announced the imminent release of the next installment in its ‘Landmarks‘ series, this time dedicated to Dubai. From the preview images that were shared by the studio, this is looking to be one of the most impressive yet!

With its impressive blend of architectural styles, Dubai is known throughout the world for its striking skyscrapers, luxurious hotels, and ultramodern construction projects. It’s home to many well-known buildings throughout the world, such as Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, but this stunning cityscape is not well represented in the base Flight Simulator scenery. Only a handful of the city’s iconic buildings have been recreated, with the rest of the urban sprawl looking like any other generic auto-generated city. This will change with Orbx’s Landmarks Dubai!

Featuring 22 high-detail and 185 medium-detail custom landmarks, Landmarks Dubai looks like a very comprehensive overhaul of the entire city, and the preview images show just that with impressive clarity. Dubai’s iconic architecture looks amazing in MSFS, with the Atlantis The Palm hotel, Jumeirah Gate, or the Dubai Frame, among many others.

Some cities are just perfect for this product series from Orbx, and Dubai is definitely one of them. The area is further enhanced with new orthoimagery, vegetation, trains (some moving) and boats, cranes, chimneys and more. Extensive terraforming is also included so that all the landmarks sit properly within the terrain in MSFS.

Landmarks Dubai will release this Friday, June 25, just in time for some scenic tours during the weekend. It will certainly transform the experience of flying in this extraordinary city, just as Orbx did with Paris, London, Sydney, or the most recent Cape Town.
