ATSimulations teases Antonov An-2 for MSFS

ATSimulations is working on a classic soviet airplane, one that holds the record of having the longest production run of any airplane in history: the Antonov An-2, a legendary biplane that was first introduced in 1946 and was still in production in the 2000s. More than 18.000 have been built in a history that spans more than 50 years!

ATSimulations, who already brought us the excellent Piaggio P.149D and the intriguing Cri-Cri, revealed just a few images showing the ‘work in progress’ with the An-2’s cockpit, without any additional details. The images look great though, very detailed, showing an airplane that has obviously been used and abused over the years, as you would expect from such a vintage machine.

The Antonov An-2 was massively produced, with many different roles that showed how versatile this airframe can be. From uses in forestry and agriculture to crop-dusting versions, passenger transport, atmospheric sampling, water-bombers, flying ambulances, or float-equipped seaplane variants, you name it. The An-2 did a little bit of everything and because of that is still a common sight across the world.

If ATSimulations work with the Piaggio is of any indication, we’re in for a quality experience. The Piaggio is one of the best light airplanes currently available for MSFS, and we can’t wait to see what the developers will come up with regarding the Antonov An-2. Stay tuned for further updates, we will continue to follow the development of this iconic biplane very closely!
