Sim Skunk Works working on Lockheed F-104G Starfighter for MSFS

Sim Skunk Works, who have recently released the excellent FIAT Aeritalia G-91 for Flight Simulator, revealed that they are now working on a new airplane for MSFS: the F-104G Starfighter.

The Starfighter was a record breaker jet fighter in its time, simultaneously owning the world records for speed, altitude and time-to-climb. Although not particularly successfull in the US, the Starfighter was widely adopted among other NATO nations, particular by the German and Italian airforces.

Many consider the Starfighter as one of the most beautiful jet fighters ever made. Its thin design, with small wings that were attached further back than most aircraft from its time, gave it a gracious figure that is still loved today.

Sim Skunk Works didn’t share much information about their depiction of this iconic aircraft, other than it being in a very early development stage. However, the developers gave a sneak-peek to the external configurator that will be available, which will allow some customizability over the aircraft’s external configuration, such as the usage of fuel tank on the wings.

Seeing how well the G-91 was received, it’s great to see Sim Skunk Works investing time on a new airplane. We will continue to follow the Starfighter’s development over the coming weeks, so stay tuned for further updates!
