Aerosoft delays CRJ to Q1 2021, shares first official teaser video

The CRJ Series from Aerosoft is probably the most anticipated upcoming aircraft for Flight Simulator. It has been teased and previewed intensively for weeks, with a very open communication channel with the community, where the team shared consistent details about the development progress.

Everything was pointing to a release in early 2021, and there were even some hints about a possible release until the end of 2020, but now it’s time to drop our hopes a little. Mathijs Kok, from Aerosoft, announced today that the team made the “tough decision to postpone the CRJ release into the first quarter of next year“. It seems Aerosoft is not yet fully happy with the quality of the product and decided it was better to give it more time to test and develop, ironing out some rough edges.

It’s always refreshing to see a developer so willing to share the progress of their work, as Aerosoft has done with the CRJ over the last few weeks, and the hype around the release was really getting out of control. So, see this delay as a good sign, knowing that the goal is really to release a high quality aircraft, rather than rush it out the door for a quick cash grab. Here at MSFS Addons we were as excited as everyone else to get our hands on this beautiful bird, but fully understand the need to give it more work. It will be worth it!

Amidst this bad news, there’s some cool new stuff to keep your hopes up: the first official teaser video:

This is definitely a great looking aircraft, and in the video we can see the stunning exterior and interior detail, complete with the head-up-display.

So, for now, all we can do is patiently wait. The first quarter of 2021 is right around the corner!
