Aermacchi MB-339: a military jet trainer in development for MSFS

Update: RELEASED!

Indiafoxtecho and Frecce Tricolori Virtuali are working together in what will probably be the first jet to be released for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The Aermacchi MB-339 was developed during the 70’s for Italian Air Force, and it’s now coming to MSFS in two different versions: a Lite and a Pro. The Lite is intended to be a relatively simple aircraft, with a highly detailed visual model based on the Frecce Tricolori variant, a very detailed cockpit and a flight model based on MSFS’s new technologies. The developers believe this version will have “a good level of realism”, with some restrictions regarding the most extreme maneuvers and systems’s simulation being limited by MSFS default systems.

The cockpit is looking incredible!

This Lite version will likely be available on both MSFS marketplace and online stores, and will have a low price – around 15€, according to the developers, which are confident that a release at the end of September/beginning of October is very much on track! But most importantly “it is done when it is done“.

The Pro version, on the other hand, will be made up to “study level” standards, with complete system simulation and a very advanced flight model. It will be available at a later date.

We will keep very close attention on this aircraft and on this team of developers, which seem determined to bring a very high quality addon for MSFS. Check the stunning screenshots below:
